“I find inspiration in the beauty of Japanese art, and particular the Japanese body tattoo and street graffiti. I first started designing dragons and Koi fish from scratch, travelling through different references in the history about Asian tattoo.

I drew a few sketches, photographed some street graffiti. Then scanned them into a computer, and used Illustrator and Photoshop to color the tattoos, assigned a model in 3D, then texturing, lighting. It was quite a visual challenge when compositing the final image, layers of layers in Photoshop, trying to combine the traditional tattoo art with a contemporary touch… I am very happy with my design."
